About Me
With a natural curiosity about how we relate to each other and mental well-being, I embarked on Mental Health Nursing training. Over the years, I have worked mainly in the community and broadened my skills by training to be a psychological therapist. I have over 16 years of experience in supporting adults struggling with their mental health problems. This includes adults diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Emotional Unstable Personality Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Depression, and anxiety, for example. My background in quality assurance, management, and leadership informs my mindful approach that is focused on quality and recovery, making the most of limited resources.
I am most passionate about seeing my clients thrive and live their best life, not just survive. You too can learn to live your best life regardless of previous traumas or current obstacles. I have a special place in my heart for the marginalized and disadvantaged people in our society.
I am also eager to learn, building on my academic foundations in mental health. I like to stay in tune with the latest best practice in mental health care through continued professional development.
After becoming an accredited Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) practitioner, I decided to open up a private practice – Improve Psyche. I am also a trained Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner and Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT) practitioner.
